Understated luxury
Kayla & Daniel
Some weddings feel like poetry. Kayla and Daniel’s celebration was one of them… an unfolding of warmth,
elegance, and deep-rooted connection that lingered long after the last candle flickered out.
A gentle symphony of warm
neutrals
Held beneath the soaring ceilings of our
reception hall, their wedding was a
masterclass in understated luxury. The
colour palette was a gentle symphony
of peach, terracotta, and warm neutrals,
echoed in every detail—from the dried
floral installations suspended above the
tables to the soft blush of the drinks
served in crystal glassware. Long white
tables stretched across the room,
dressed in crisp linens and flanked by
white chairs, each place setting a quiet
nod to refinement.
Candles — by the dozen
Candles… hundreds of them… lined the tables,
casting a golden glow that softened the
space and wrapped guests in intimacy. It
wasn’t just beautiful; it was personal. This was
a family wedding in every sense. Children
danced between tables, grandparents
toasted with misty eyes, and laughter spilled
out into the bushveld air. You could feel the
love in the room—layered, generational, and
joyfully abundant.
Staircase of dreams
One of the most breathtaking moments came before the ceremony even began. The 45-meter staircase leading up to our glasschapel was transformed into a floral procession. Each step was adorned with clusters of dried and fresh blooms—earthy textures, soft petals, and trailing foliage that guided guests upward like a walk through a dream. It was a visual crescendo that built toward thechapel’s glass façade, where Kayla would soon make her entrance. And what an entrance it was. Kayla’s bridal bouquet was a piece of art—an asymmetrical arrangement of roses, hydrangeas, and dahlias in tones of burnt orange, cream, and soft red. Some blooms weredried, adding depth and texture, while others were fresh and full of life. It mirrored her spirit: grounded, radiant, and quietly bold.
Candlelit tablescapes
From the first toast to the final dance, Carey and Oliver’s wedding was a celebration of love, resilience, and refined beauty.
Whispering Thorns was honored to host their day, proving once again that rain can’t dampen joy—it only deepens the magic.
